Join Wee Yogis for a 9-day destination kids yoga teacher training retreat in spectacular Ojai, CA. The retreat center is a peaceful sanctuary designed to encourage relaxation, learning and transformation. Nestled in the Valley of Upper Ojai, two on-site rooming houses share breathtaking views of natural splendor. The center features a beautiful Yoga Barn with heated floors, a hot tub, and stunning grounds in which to venture and get lost. Retreat Registration

Retreat prices vary according to the accommodations you choose. We encourage you to stay on-site to maximize your time and retreat training experience. Housing is on a first come first serve basis, please register early to ensure you are able to reserve the accommodations that are best for you.

Guest Speakers:

Michael Brian Baker is a student of compassion and humility and the founding member of The Breath Center. He travels extensively facilitating groups and individuals in the realization of self-mastery through somatic release, breathwork, and natural plant-based detox.  Michael’s extensive experience as a keynote speaker representing the conscious and healing arts communities has built his well deserved reputation for restoring profound hope and intimacy in large group settings. He supports people in their own growth, freedom, and discovery of the bodies innate intelligence to heal from within.

Jennifer Brummet is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Arizona and has an 20 year history of working with children, including those with special needs, mental health and substance abuse issues and developmental disabilities.  She has long integrated mindfulness into her holistic approach in working with children of all ages.

Rowan Lommel first began teaching yoga in 2001 and has a private yoga therapy practice in Ojai and Santa Barbara. A student of the renowned Desikachar family of yogis, she has studied Yoga Therapy in India at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram. Rowan is a Healing Yoga Foundation and Yoga Alliance (E-RYT) certified teacher.

Jacquelyn Krieger received her yoga teaching certification from Himalaya Yoga Valley in India and has completed intensive chakra psychology and chakra yoga training at Anodea Judith’s Sacred Centers. A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin film school and the Culinary Classroom professional chef program in Los Angeles, she is a current student at the East West School of Planetary Herbology. Jared sits on the board of directors for the Social Venture Network, a premier socially responsible business community, as well as the board of Love Serve Remember (Ram Dass’) Foundation. Course Outline

Wee Yogis 95 Hour Kids Yoga Teacher Training has been designed as an extension to our famous Wee Yogis Play: Module 1 . In this 9 day intensive professional training we will cover everything you will need to know to become a certified Wee Yogis Teacher as well registered kids yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance. We will explore:

  • Techniques and activities to introduce asana, breath-work and meditation to children aged 1-18 years old
  • Partner and group yoga fun for all ages
  • Kids Anatomy and Physiology
  • Introducing yoga philosophy and practices to children of all ages, including the Chakra System, Yamas and Niyamas
  • Meditation & Visualisation techniques for each age group
  • Creative Wee Yogis Connect; Mindfulness activities, techniques, and songs
  • Therapeutic yoga techniques for children with Special Needs
  • Understanding Autism, ADHD, Sensory Disorders, communication difficulties and social-emotional difficulties and how to effectively use yoga for each of these SEN.
  • Games and exercises for Bully prevention
  • Advance sequencing: Creative themes, Mommy & baby yoga, Children with special needs, Trauma,  Teens, and more.
  • Advanced workshop on poses  for teens such as back bends/inversions/arm balances
  • Mantras & Kirtan for Tweens & Teens
  • Interactive story-telling and yoga journeys for all age groups
  • Behaviour management in the yoga class
  • Positive & Empathetic language skills

Are there Prerequisites for this training?

Yes, to partake in this fun adventure you must complete our Module 1: Wee Yogis Play.


How can I register and complete Module 1: Wee Yogis Play before the August training?

We have lots of schedule dates in SF and LA. If none of these dates work for you then you can complete the training online… Yes, online! Write us for more info!


Why are you offering Module 2-4  back to back?

All of the training modules above are offered as part of our 95 Hour Registered Children’s Yoga School (RCYS). Each summer, we offer all modules 2-4 back to back during the month of August as a convenience to those who wish to attend multiple modules in one visit or who are working to complete the 95 hours of training required to become a Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher (RCYS) through Yoga Alliance.


What does it mean to become part of the Wee Yogis Teachers network?

Once you have completed our 95hr Kids Yoga Teacher Training, you are eligible to join our teachers network, you’l have the opportunity to teach Wee Yogis classes, join our touring group, join our teachers online network, and to train to be one of our teacher trainers.


What if I am interested in acquiring the Yoga Alliance’s RCYT (Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher) designation. How can I learn more?

How do I get to Ojai and where can I stay during my visit?

 You can stay off-site or join us in one of the rooms in the ranch. Space is limited.

From LAX, Take the Ventura Shuttle to Four Points Sheraton in Ventura, about $35 one way.

30 minute Uber drive to the retreat center.

We will also be offering free transportation from Four Points Sheraton in Ventura on Friday, August 4th at 12pm and 2pm. Please email, if interest.
